随着我国人口老龄化的逐渐加剧,国家经济的蓬勃发展,人民生活水平的不断提高,老年人已然成为不可忽视的旅游群体。苏州拥有悠久的历史,素以“鱼米之乡”、“丝绸之府”,享有“上有天堂,下有苏杭”的美誉。苏州旅游业起步较早,已经形成了一个基本完善的旅游产品体系和服务体系。改革开放以来苏州的经济水平迅猛发展,在长三角地区拥有自己的一席之地,紧追上海的步伐,苏州老年人口数量也在不断增加,老年旅游市场是特殊的旅游市场,他们有庞大的数量,充裕的时间,也有较强的旅游购买力,这些都表明老年旅游者是苏州旅游业发展的潜力市场,但是目前老年旅游市场并不完善,开发老年旅游市场更是面临种种难题,因此开展这个课题的必要性就可想而知了。

1.1研究的背景和意义
据苏州市老年办事处统计,截止2010年底,全市60周岁以上的老年人已经达到131.67万人,占全市户籍总人口的20.65%。70周岁以上的老年人60.35万人,90周岁以上的老年人1.8821万人,百岁以上的老年人共有347位[1]。由此可见,老年旅游市场的潜力还是非常庞大的,尤其是60-69周岁的老年人。从全国第六次人口普查来看,苏州老年人的文化程度整体还是挺高的。同第五次人口普查相比,具有高中文化程度的由原来13900人上升为现在19081人,具有初中文化程度的由原来36789人上升为现在38439人,具有小学文化程度的由原来32373人下降为现在21636人[2]。苏州市目前全市人民总体的文化程度在不断的上升,文化修养也提高了,更容易产生旅游需求。老年人不仅有足够的闲暇时间,也有退休金、养老保险金的稳定收入,除此之外还有家庭子女的经济给予等。他们也有旅游需求,在这多种有力条件的诱因下,老年人对旅游的渴望就会更加强烈,所以老年旅游市场就更应该得到重视并加大开发。老龄化社会的到来,对旅游市场来讲是一个巨大的潜力股,给旅行社带来了机遇的同时也带来了挑战,谁能够抓住机遇谁就能赢得先机。
通过对苏州地区老年旅游市场消费需求的调查分析,了解老年人旅游的心理需求,其次辅以文献参阅等方法分析研究苏州地区老年旅游市场,提出进一步细分老年旅游市场开发适合老年身心健康的旅游产品和路线,相应的营销策略以及制定合理的价格策略,积极开发老年人旅游市场,不管是对苏州旅游业还是旅游消费者本身,都会是一笔巨大的财富。

1.研究方法
本文采用的是文献研究法、问卷调查和笔者访谈记录相结合的调查方法。在进行论文设计时,查阅了很多相关研究文献并结合本文研究的核心主题,设计了《苏州老年旅游市场调查问卷》。问卷调查表由三个部分组成:个人基本信息 、问卷说明部分、旅游市场需求。为了方便老年人回答问卷题目,问卷上涉及到的题目都为封闭的单选题。
2.预期达到的目标
通过几个具有代表性的地点的问卷调查,最终将收集到的数据整合分析,利用spss统计软件对采集到的样本数据进行统计分析,得出苏州老年旅游市场需求特征,并根据这些结论,开发最合理的旅游产品和旅游线路,将老年旅游市场的潜力激发出来,从而拉动整个苏州旅游业的发展。
